Reading: 2 Timothy 1:8-12
Devotional:
Paul wrote these words from prison, beaten and bruised for his faith. His message to Timothy is striking: "Don't be ashamed...but share in suffering for the gospel." Faith rarely makes life easier—in fact, it often makes it harder.
Yet Paul wasn't complaining. He declared, "I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed." Here's the paradox: while faith may complicate your circumstances, it radically simplifies your purpose. When you know Jesus, your response to every prompting of the Spirit becomes simply, "Yes, Lord."
Faith grows great when you serve through it, not around it. The difficulties you face aren't obstacles to your faith—they're opportunities for it to deepen and display itself. Jesus never promised easy; He promised present. His yoke is easy and His burden light because He shares it with you.
What hardship are you facing today? Instead of asking God to remove it, ask Him how your faith can grow great through it.
