Reading: Ephesians 2:8-10
Devotional:
Faith is a gift—not something we manufacture or earn through good behavior. Paul makes this crystal clear: we are saved by grace through faith, and even that faith itself is God's gift to us. We cannot boast in our salvation because we contributed nothing to it.
But here's the beautiful paradox: while faith is given freely, it's not meant to be hoarded. The same passage reminds us we are created for good works, prepared in advance for us to walk in. Faith received must become faith expressed.
Think of faith like a seed. God plants it in your heart, where it takes deep root, providing stability and nourishment to your soul. But that same seed also produces fruit—fruit that contains more seeds to be scattered in the lives of others.
How are you giving away what's been freely given to you? Your testimony, your encouragement, your service—these are all ways faith keeps moving through you to others.
